Chakra Balancing Massage
Bronwyn Bossley - Body Stress Release
CHAKRAS are powerful energy vortexes in your body, located from the base of your spine to the top of your head. They receive and transmit energy, each one relating to different parts of your body and aspects of your being physical, emotional and spiritual.
Incorporating pure essential oils, crystals placed along the spine on each chakra and dowsing to ensure correct oils are used for the individual, a soothing figure 8 sequence is preformed on the back working around the chakra points from the root chakra located at the base of your spine up to the Crown chakra located at the top of your head. This technique is extremely effective leaving the individual feeling relaxed, calm and lighter.

1st - Root Chakra - Muladhars - RED
This is the first Chakra we will discuss.
Known as the 1st Root Chakra, the Muladhars (sometimes spells as Mooladhara) it is the Chakra that connects us to our physical world. Located at the base of our spine, it is the root chakra that governs our physical energies, giving us a sense of safety and security with other people and ourselves. It is important to balance this chakra first before balancing the others, from an energetic standpoint, as it is widely believed that this is where we draw our earthly life force energy through.

2nd - Sacral Chakra - Svadisthana - Orange
Known as the Sacral Chakra, this is the chakra that rules our physical manifestations, is the seat of creativity and its balance determines how we see ourselves in the physical world. Our Sacral Chakra allows us to experience our true desires, and to see the world as a magical and profound place. It governs our self-worth. We always say follow your gut feeling and wisdom. Sacral Chakra is located on the spine just below the naval.

3rd - Solar Plexus Chakra - Manipura - Yellow
Following the Sacral Chakra we have our Solar Plexus Chakra
Known as the Solar–plexus or 3rd chakra, the Manipura is located just above the naval and below the rib cage.
It is our energy centre and it radiates vital life energy (prana) throughout our entire body.
It is where our Will Power comes from; the Manipura governs all our ability to achieve, self-esteem, raw emotions, and self-discipline.
Often a feeling of intuition or “gut feeling” in a certain situation will benefit you greatly if you listen to it.
All aspects of the digestive tract, including the assimilation of nutrients are controlled by the 3rd Chakra.
Next month will be talking about the Heart Chakra.
4th - Heart Chakra - Anahata - Green
Known as the 4th or Heart Chakra, the Anahata is our energy centre from which love, joy, happiness and compassion emanate from. It also allows us to feel sorrow, sadness, anger, and lust, all of which are feelings of the lower heart chakra but essential in understanding ourselves in this World, so that we may over-come them and move to the Higher Heart, where Pure, Unconditional Love exists. It is the chakra of Yang, or positive energy, connecting the lower chakras to the higher ones and is very important in your spiritual and evolutional development. When it is open fully, the Heart Chakra becomes what the Buddist call Mahakaruna, Channel for Universal Compassion – Our True Self. It is here where we invite this Infinite Love to flow through us, allowing it to heal others and ourselves. The lesson of the Heart is that we first must Love and accept ourselves before we can Love Others.
5th - Throat Chakra - Vishudda - Blue
